Dr Peter Fung, who was born in England, attended Trinity College from 1963 to 1968. In 1968 he was awarded the Jerningham Silver Medal, an honour bestowed on the student who attained first place in the Cambridge GCE Ordinary Level Examinations in the Country.
In 1970 he returned to the UK where he studied Marine Zoology at the University of Wales and then Medicine at Southampton University. He worked as a General Practitioner in Southampton for 25 years, and in Sidmouth, Devon for 8 years prior to his retirement.
He is a musician and has been a worship leader in various churches over the years. He is the author of two books – ‘Eternity Now – a Christian View of Eternity’ and ‘From Venus to Victoria – a History of Sidmouth’.
The Trinity College Alumni Association recognises Dr Peter Fung for his achievement in 1968 as Trinity College’s first Jerningham Silver Medallist and for his thirty-three years of medical service.
