Justice William Guy Hannays II attended Trinity College from 1965 to 1970. He held a Bachelor of Law degree and a Legal Education Certificate from the University of the West Indies.

Justice Hannays was admitted to practice as a solicitor in 1981. In 1985 he formed his own law firm “Hannays and Co.” and had a long and varied civil law practice acting both as an Instructing and an Advocate Attorney-at-Law.

Justice Hannays was a former Chairman of First Citizens Bank Limited. He was a member of the Disciplinary Tribunal of the Law Association and sat on the National Insurance Appeals Tribunal. He was a past President of the Trinidad and Tobago Lawyers’ Cricket Association and a past President of the Trinity College Alumni Association. He served on several Boards of Directors.

Justice Hannays was appointed a Puisne Judge of the Supreme Court of Trinidad and Tobago on 14th October 2013. Justice Hannays regrettably passed away in 2014.

The Trinity College Alumni Association recognised Justice William Guy Hannays II for his achievements in the legal profession.
