Mr Beresford “Berry” Hunte attended Trinity College from 1959 to 1965. He was an outstanding footballer and cricketer and captained both teams while at Trinity.

Berry was born in Nelson Street to a family steeped in culture. He played Red Indian and Sailor mas’ in All Stars as a boy and later was a member of the popular local “combo”, Johnny Lee and the Hurricanes.

Mr. Hunte, however, is best known as Manager of the Neal and Massy Trinidad All Stars Steel Orchestra, a band with a reputation for discipline and musical excellence. Under his stewardship between 1987 to 1990 and 1995 to 2014, All Stars won the national panorama title, the bomb competition and world steel band festival on numerous occasions. The band has toured the world and is a cultural ambassador for Trinidad and Tobago.

The Trinity College Alumni Association recognises Beresford Hunte for his leadership and his contribution to culture.
